Signature Level 6 NVQ Certificate in ISL
Signamic is working towards offering a Signature Level 6 ISL (Irish Sign Language) qualification course for those wishing to train to be BSL/ISL Interpreters during 2011, which is linked to our Sign Language to Sign Language or English Translation Training programme commencing in January 2011.
For those not familiar with ISL, this sign language is used in Ireland and some places in the UK, and is unrelated to BSL in terms of vocabulary, but the two languages share some grammatical features. ISL uses a version of the one-hand fingerspelling alphabet whereas BSL uses the two hand fingerspelling alphabet.
