AS Level English Language (Year 1)

This course is both a ‘stand-alone' qualification and also the first half of the A Level English Language It is designed to encourage you to gain greater confidence when interpreting into English or to develop your skills as a deaf professional using English in the workplace. A Level English Language enables you to  increase your own ability in handling the language confidently and develop important skills such as language analysis and writing skills.

The AS level specification enables you to :

  • explore the fundamental structures and functions of writing, speech and converstation
  • understand how language functions in different social contexts
  • identify the uses and structures of English 

English Language for Deaf Professionals

A course will be set up for specifically for deaf professionals in 2011. Please contact Linda McDonald, linda@signamic.co.uk if you are interested in applying for this course. An interpreter will be present throughout the course.

  Duration   Twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday, plus 3 Saturday workshops
  Time   6.30pm-9.30pm (for evenings), 10am-4pm (Saturdays)
